Philip Ward, founder of The Minos Press, is a writer, translator and (occasional) composer. He worked for many years in the House of Commons Library. His publications include Hofmannsthal and Greek Myth (2002), a translation of Frank Wedekind’s novella Mine-Haha (2010), and studies of the work of Sandy Denny (2011), Helen Mirren (2019), Laura Nyro (2022) and Michael Arlen (2023). His volume of essays, Instead of a Critic, was published by Minos in 2022 and a selection of his writings on popular music is coming shortly. A member of the Society of Authors and the Biographers’ Club, he lives in Cambridge, where he is a Senior Member of Wolfson College.

Christopher Ward is an author who writes both fiction and non-fiction. He has written about the natural world and has published four books on the environment and the consequences of scarcity and climate change. He has also written half a dozen novels that deal with themes of life and love and responsibility, including three books that take up themes about humanity and the ends of life mooted by JM Keynes. The first of these, The Resistance of Anna and Magdalena, was published by Minos in 2024. He lives on Dartmoor amidst family and friends, mourning the passing of his beloved, Isabelle Ruth, the artist, and hoping ever for new projects.
